What you're basically asking is to "steal" code from a chip that has its lock bits set.

There are no practical ways for the home hobbyist to steal the code.

When a chip is "locked," you cannot "read" the chip. I understand why you would want to copy it, be it for learning purposes or whatever. I ran across the same stumbling block when I first started getting into microprocessors. I wanted to view code out of an ATMega128 that was controlling an LCD.

A manufacturer locks a chip out to keep people from reading their code for a reason; access to this code is considered stealing, no matter the intent. The only way to disable the lock bit fuse is to perform a very complicated procedure that is basically impossible for the home hobbyist to accomplish.

However, regardless of your intentions, you're much better off learning how to do it the hard way anyway. You learn a lot more in the process, and in the end would be easier than an attempt to recover code from a locked chip.

anyway thnx sir,
if u have any reference web sites regarding disable lock bits please send the links.. puposely this is not stealing. for education purpose.. im a telecommunication student in malaysia. im from sri lanka..
thanks in advance....

So far as I know, you cannot disable lock bits.

You can find on Google where they "tear down" certain AVR chips, but this
requires microscopic work - and once you remove the layers, I have NO idea what you do from there, and they don't cover that part of the operation.
