I'd like to start with AVR. Should I use assembly or C?
Which C is better than others?

c is better bcz it is easy to program and normal application do not require very fast execution of 8mhz. So if you want in deep go for assembly in avrstudio. If you want to develop good application go for WinAVR/AVRGCC. Basically speed of C is somewht less. So if you want to start with C go for this book MY EXPERIENCE IN PROGRAMMIGN AVR MICROCONTROLLER IN C USING WINAVR/AVRGCC(uploaded on yahoo group-booksbybibin) see this link http://booksbybibin.14.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=5
